High School Group Library Visits
The FGCU Library will consider requests from high school library media specialists for instruction visits that support in-depth research projects. School media specialists or program leaders must contact the library at least three weeks ahead of time.
Requests are handled on a first come, first served basis. However, since the library primarily serves the faculty, staff and students of FGCU, we cannot always guarantee that requests can be filled.
We also encourage you to combine your library visit with an FGCU campus tour and information session. Not only are tours a great way to get to know the University, but students can meet with current FGCU students, ask questions and explore what it means to attend university.
Policies & Procedures
- The school media specialist must be designated as the contact person to receive email notices relating to pick up, overdue, or fine notices. This person will then be responsible for contacting the student directly.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for the fines/bills of their minor children. School media specialists who opt to sign the guardian permission form instead of the parent, are then responsible for any fines/bills incurred by the minor they sign for.
- Supervision of high school students is the responsibility of the accompanying teacher/s.
- Students MUST bring a completed and signed Borrowing Card Application for Minors in order to check out books from the FGCU Library.
- There is a limit of three books that can be checked-out at one time.
Resources
- Your students can use our electronic resources within the Library only.
- Some of our electronic resources have limits to number of users per session.
- Printing and photocopying require a print/photocopy card, which can be purchased from machines in the Library. The card costs $1, but does not include any print/photocopy credits: a minimum of $1 must be added to the card. Printing B&W cost 5c per page and photocopying cost 10c per page.
