What is Plagiarism?
Plagiarize: "to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own: use (another's production) without crediting the source: to commit literacy theft: present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source."
These are all examples of plagiarism:
- Copying text from a website and pasting it in your paper without using quotation marks and giving credit to the original source.
- Buying or using someone's paper and saying it is your own
- Rewording or rephrasing someone else's words without giving credit to the original source.
