Is this policy unique?

No. Dozens of other universities, including Harvard University, Florida State University, Oregon State University, and University of Kansas, have an Open Access policy. FGCU’s policy is closely modeled after Harvard University, which is the standard in university Open Access policies.

Is FGCU taking my copyright?

No. You automatically are the owner of your copyright unless you transfer your copyright. This Open Access Archiving policy provides a non-exclusive license, non-commercial to archive the article and does not transfer ownership of your copyright.

What will FGCU do with my articles?

FGCU Library will add received articles to DigitalFGCU. DigitalFGCU is the university’s institutional repository.
