Congratulations to Alberto Condori, Ph.D., our 79th honoree in the FGCU Author Series of recently published books authored or edited by FGCU faculty and staff. Dr. Condori’s book Recent Progress on Operator Theory and Approximation in Spaces of Analytic Functions will be featured on the FGCU Library’s digital media channels during February 2021 and displayed on a poster on the first floor of Library West in the FGCU Authors and New Books area.
Dr. Condori grew up in Peru and completed undergraduate studies at University of North Florida in mathematics and computer science. After becoming more involved with mathematics competitions, he chose mathematics as a career; to that end, he completed a doctoral degree in mathematics at Michigan State University in the field of Mathematical Analysis.
Today, he is an Associate Professor and the Graduate Program Coordinator in the mathematics department at FGCU. He loves to do mathematical research and has a passion for mentoring motivated students at the undergraduate and graduate levels; in particular, regularly, he mentors students interested in mathematical challenges (e.g. Virginia Tech competition, Putnam, etc.) or who are interested in doing mathematical research while completing their degrees at FGCU. For more information on his research see http://faculty.fgcu.edu/acondori/ .
Throughout the year, a recent book authored by FGCU staff or faculty is selected and recognized in a variety of ways. FGCU faculty and staff are encouraged to notify the relevant subject specialist librarian if they publish a book.
