FGCU Author Series Information, Eligibility, & Criteria

Each month, a recent book authored by FGCU staff or faculty is selected and placed on display with an accompanying poster on the first floor of Library West in the FGCU Authors bookshelf area. The author and book are also featured on the Library’s News Blog, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.

FGCU faculty and staff are encouraged to notify the library or relevant subject specialist librarian if they publish a book.

  • Any book authored or edited by an FGCU faculty or staff member is eligible.
  • Book should be recently published.
  • One book is selected each month from August to April and one in the summer.
  • Criteria for selection include length, quality of publisher, reviews, and primary authorship.
  • The chosen book is featured at the Library with an accompanying poster and month-long display in our FGCU Authors bookshelf.
  • The book is also featured on the Library website news blog and Facebook page.
  • Authors are honored at a special annual Library event in January.
