By using this guide, students and faculty will learn how to identify and locate books, e-books, peer-reviewed articles, and streaming videos for research purposes. They will also be able to distinguish and cite ethically quality research for their research needs.
This research guide is intended to serve as a starting point for users seeking information on research, conducting, and writing a literature review. It should be of particular interest to any student working on a literature review paper, a thesis, a dissertation, or an article for publication. This is not intended to reflect the importance of any given research interest. As the curriculum changes, the scope of this guide will change, as well.
This guide will provide students and faculty access to helpful websites as well as FGCU resources such as books and ebooks, databases for peer-reviewed articles, and instructions for accessing materials. The content of the guide primarily reflects the resources available through the FGCU Library. Electronic resources such as databases and e-books may only be accessed by current FGCU students, staff, faculty, and emeritus faculty. General collection books may be checked out by current FGCU students, staff, faculty, emeritus faculty, and community users within the counties of Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, and Lee. All materials may be used onsite by members of the public.
For more information about accessing FGCU materials, please see the circulation policies. Inclusion of publicly accessible materials such as those found on the Websites & Archives page is not an endorsement but is meant to guide researchers to possible resources of use.
Any comments or questions may be directed to your Subject Librarian.
FGCU Librarians are available to answer questions via chat most hours that the library is open. If FGCU Librarians are not available, you may be connected with librarian at another location in Florida.
