Philosophy

The American Philosophical Association promotes the discipline and profession of philosophy, both within the academy and in the public arena. The APA supports the professional development of philosophers at all levels and works to foster greater understanding and appreciation of the value of philosophical inquiry.

This peer-reviewed resource has entries on major topics and person in philosophy. Entries go through a similar process as submissions to scholarly journals, and the editorial staff is comprised of philosophy professors from around the world.

This is a free online encyclopedia that is appropriate for college research. “Each entry is maintained and kept up to date by an expert or group of experts in the field. All entries and updates are refereed by the members of a distinguished Editorial Board before they are made public.” The encylopedia is a publication of the Metaphysics Research Lab, Stanford University (ISSN 1095-5054).
