What is OpenTexts@FGCU

OpenTexts @FGCU provides access to Pressbooks, a user-friendly publishing platform to create, adapt, and publish e-books including, textbooks, webbooks, and print-ready-PDFs.  The University Library is providing access to the Pressbooks platform to allow content creators to make their learning materials more visible and freely accessible. Use Pressbooks' interactive tools to transform your curricula into a learner-centered environment.

Key Features

  • Easy to use online book writing software provided by the FGCU Library.

  • Free to current FGCU faculty and staff

  • Lets you create online and downloadable (PDF, ePub, etc) books

  • Write your open access book in Pressbooks or easily import content directly from Word

  • Several collaborators can work on the same book, with different roles and permissions

  • Easily apply an open license to your content

Getting started  

Visit OpenTexts @FGCU and Click the Register for an Account.  Since we have a limited number of accounts, your request will be reviewed and approved by a librarian. You will be notified when your account is activated.
