The University Archives & Special Collections of the Florida Gulf Coast University Wilson G. Bradshaw Library advances research by acquiring, preserving, and providing public access to original primary source materials. Collections are available for everyone (students, staff and members of the public) to access online through DigitalFGCU or in our reading room. The collections can also be made available through instruction sessions and tours, that provide a unique opportunity to access and engage with primary source materials.
The Koreshan Collection documents the daily life of the Koreshan Unity settlement of Estero. Founded by Dr. Cyrus Teed in the late 19th century, the commune quickly grew into a self-reliant township complete with a functioning economy and source of electricity. The collection is available to view either on DigitalFGCU or on the FGCU Finding Aid.
