There are a number of repositories for archiving your data. Before choosing a repository, ask yourself:

What are my discipline's practices?
What are the needs of my data? Is the research data sensitive?
Do I need a free storage repository or do I have a grant to pay for it?
When will my data be publicly accessible?

figshare is a general repository for you to store, share, and discover research. You may upload any research materials to the repository for free – papers, datasets, posters, videos, etc. Every deposited item is assigned a digital object identifier.
