Six Steps for New Faculty

FGCU ID Card

The FGCU ID is your Library ID to check out library materials. Your network credentials (FGCU email and password) will be used for off-campus access to many databases and e-journals.

Subject Librarians

Subject Librarians are subject research specialists who provide support for students & faculty, and are assigned to each academic program.

Request Materials

FGCU Library Services welcomes suggestions for the acquisition of materials that support teaching, study, and research at the University. Please use the Suggest A Book / Material form to make a request.

Course Reserves

Please review the Course Reserve Policy. You can also create persistent links to articles located in FGCU databases and place them in your CANVAS courses.

Information Literacy Options

Web-based tutorials and helpful answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) are available for self-directed support for searching. Librarians are also available for research instruction sessions with your class. Contact your subject librarian for availability.

Library Resources in CANVAS

The Library Guide link on the left navigation menu in your CANVAS courses has been created by your liaison librarian to guide your students to relevant library resources. You can also integrate library resources manually (course reserves, articles, librarian information, library videos) into your CANVAS courses. Contact the subject librarian for your program.
