The University Library has a Revopoint Miraco Pro 3D scanner available to students, faculty, and staff for a variety of different uses including item replication and reproduction, 3D animation, reverse engineering, and preservation. This hand held scanner allows users to easily recreate physical items in a 3D space. The scanner utilizes a quad camera infrared structured light system to capture the surface of what you are scanning with up to 0.02 mm precision and 0.05 mm accuracy. It is able to capture both large and small objects.
The 48-megapixel RGB camera allows for 8K color capturing, giving you the ability to capture every detail. The in-unit 2K screen allows the user to see the scanning process in real time. The scanner can seamless switch between the large and small capture with the press of a button. it also allows both single-shot and continuous capture modes for total control.
