About the FGCU Library's Glowforge
The FGCU Library has one Glowforge Pro, available to currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff. The Glowforge is a CO2 laser that uses a high powered laser beam to cut through and engrave the surface of a variety of materials. These materials include various types of wood, acrylic, leather, and composite wood boards. The laser head moves across the surface, cutting, scoring and engraving, then the final designs are removed from the remaining material. the Glowforge excels at rapid prototyping and implementation of basic shapes and structures.
